CCJ mortgages...

County Court Judgements (CCJs) on your credit file will not necessarily leave you unable to obtain a mortgage. The main factors that lenders will consider are the amount of money involved in the CCJ and how long ago it was registered. Of course, the more CCJs you have, the harder it will be to find a lender who will consider your application.

A very important factor is whether your CCJs are satisfied or not. If your CCJs have been satisfied, you should request that this be noted by the courts. The CCJ will remain on your file for six years whether it is satisfied or not but potential lenders will be able to see that you have paid the debt. Unsatisfied CCJs make it harder to obtain a mortgage, but it may still be possible: if you are unsure as to whether a lender will be willing to offer you a mortgage please contact us and we will assess your situation.
