South-west attracts homebuyers

The south-west of England has benefited from an influx of homebuyers because the region has a number of attractive characteristics.

That is according to the Southwest Property Network, which pointed out that large numbers of young families have moved to the region.

Rob McCabe, spokesman for the organisation, said that the south-west has plenty to offer potential homebuyers.

"The south-west has good train links for people who work, which is important. There is a growing community of new companies opening and expanding across the south west, particularly in Bristol," he commented.

"There are a lot of opportunities in the south-west, and a diverse selection of properties. You can get a cottage in the countryside or a waterfront apartment. It’s a popular place to be.

"There are lots of little pockets down in Devon and all around Exeter, which has vastly grown with the past few years of building, really rocketed ahead ; new suburbs have been created and there are great opportunities. There is a wealth of various properties to be had," added Mr McCabe.

A recent study showed that the south-west benefited from more internal migrants than any other part of the UK between 1996 and 2006.ADNFCR-1116-ID-18442037-ADNFCR
