Airport growth may boost house prices

Properties close to London City Airport may increase in value due to the expansion of the hub.
To many it may seem strange that the expansion of an airport will lead to increased house prices but property website Buy Association believes it to be true.
The site said that London City Airport is slightly different to others because it only caters for small aircraft and was designed to sit in a largely residential area.
In addition, as the airport increases the number of passengers it handles, the transport infrastructure in the area is improving rapidly, helping to boost property prices.
"It's very much an urban airport and has always been right in the middle of residential areas so there aren't any huge planes that use it. It's very much a business airport so it's only really private jets and smaller aircrafts. So the disruption is fairly minimal
the noise isn't that bad," said Buy Association spokesman Paul Collins.
"The transport is good, particularly in that part of London because you've got the new developments going into the Olympics site, you've got the fact that the Docklands Light Railway is extending down to Woolwich as well.
"The transport infrastructure in the area is improving hugely
so it's more of an advantage than a really bad thing," he continued.
